Laurena Horn qualified to practice physiotherapy in 1988 from Withington Hospital School of Physiotherapy, Manchester. She worked in a large London teaching hospital for five years before moving to America where she continued to work and study, gaining an advanced Master's Degree in pathokinesiology from New York University in 2003 - research in to the assessment and treatment of abnormal movement.
Her clinical experience has covered most specialities of medicine, in outpatient therapy as well as hospital based acute rehabilitation and community based practice in both London and New York.
Since returning to the UK she has completed the extensive further education required to become a member of the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of Sports Injuries, Back & Neck problems and other musculo-skeletal disorders (joints, muscle and ligament pathology). She has completed training for the use of acupuncture for the management of pain.
Her other Clinical Speciality is completion of the US certification course and advanced courses for Bobath (Neuro Developmental Technique) treatment of patients with neurological disorders such as Stroke, Brain Injury and Multiple Sclerosis.
